The simple, easy-to-build construction system that the designer conceived can be used to assemble any planting box to create a mini garden or farm that allows people to assemble a variety of different styles.

They plan to publish the parameters of the module, so that everyone with a CNC machine can produce components of plywood material, and then use these components to create a structure that is consistent with their mind and covered with plants.

The firm will present their designs at the inaugural Seoul Architecture Biennale, which will showcase ideas and strategies for future cities. The “Vertical Garden” system consists of only six parts, including a standard size planting box, several racks, and a number of spare parts such as nails and screws.

“It's like how Lego works,” explains Lindholm. “Each part can be rotated vertically and horizontally, so it's really flexible. So you can play it freely, build whatever style you want, and show off your freestyle.”

Co-conceived a program called “The Room That Can Be Growed”, which is a spherical garden, exhibited at the Copenhagen Art Fair and the Ikea Festival in Milan.

The feedback they received about the design prompted them to develop a system that was more flexible and adaptable to any shape space of any size. They called the new design "grown more." “You can build both indoors and outdoors, and you can also use it to separate spaces, and you can use it to quickly build a transparent, fluid space,” says Lindholm.

Lindholm and Husum have used the system to build three different installations in the Donuimen Museum Village, one of the two main venues of the Biennale.

The first device is a "city room" filled with flowers that attract bees. The other device is filled with herbs and vegetables, which can be harvested directly and sent to the on-site restaurant for ingredients. There is also a more abstract device that is filled with lush vegetation.

The shapes of the three are all based on the form in nature. The firm hopes that they will create a place that will benefit the public and provide shelter for the poor.

After the end of this year's Seoul Architecture Biennale, this "vertical garden" will be open to the public.
